A SMALLER, BETTER WAY
Not every idea needs a platform. Sometimes you just need a calculator, a dashboard, or a tool that does one thing well. Wardian gives those tools a place to live.
Run apps from a local folder, or read them from Google Drive. Your working apps, history, and saved data live on the machine you control.
Suite components run in separate, sandboxed frames. They communicate through a kernel that enforces their contracts. Sensitive capabilities need your permission.
Export a portable .wardian file. Share it with someone else, who can inspect what it contains before importing. Permissions are always asked again.
FROM IDEA TO EVERYDAY TOOL
Describe what you need, or build it yourself.
Wardian takes care of giving it a home.
Choose “Make an app” and describe your tool. Connect Claude through Anthropic or Amazon Bedrock to build with AI—or start from a template.
Wardian checks the package. Run a simple WebAssembly module, a custom page, or a suite of small, cooperating parts.
Use it in your browser, change it as your needs grow, and export it when it’s ready to share.
SMALL TOOLS. REAL POSSIBILITIES.
Explore the Universal Scalability Law and understand your load-test results.
A focused tool for exploring loans, without another sprawling spreadsheet.
Bring search results into a tool with explicit access and its own SQLite storage.
Illustrations represent example tools, not live application screenshots.
AN OLD IDEA. A NEW KIND OF CASE.
In the 1800s, the Wardian case let living plants travel safely across oceans. A small, sealed world that gave fragile things room to thrive.
We think your ideas deserve the same.
Your apps are the plants. Wardian is the case.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS
No. Wardian is a Rust application you run on a computer you control. This website introduces the project, and runs eleven of the example apps in your browser to show them. Your own apps run through your own Wardian server.
No. You can build apps yourself using the module, page, and suite templates. AI-assisted creation is optional and requires configuring your own Anthropic or Amazon Bedrock access.
Access depends on the package type and declared capabilities. Suite components are sandboxed, communicate through the kernel, and need permission for sensitive services such as Splunk and cross-package channels. Read the security model for the exact boundaries.
Yes. Wardian is MIT licensed. You can inspect the source, build it yourself, and contribute on GitHub.
